Meet The Team

Dr. Steven D’Ambrose, DVM, designed Golden Heart Veterinary Care from the ground up, focusing intensely on every detail, to ensure a fresh new experience for both the client and their beloved pets.

At Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. D’Ambrose concentrated on companion animal medicine, developing his special interests in animal behavior, dermatology, and dentistry.

His breadth of education and experience ensure pets and pet parents receive the highest standard of veterinary care. Enjoy personalized, luxury service in our state-of-the-art veterinary clinic where the health and well-being of your beloved pets is our highest priority.

When he's not at Golden Heart you may find him with his wife and daughter running around Disney. He also loves music and enjoy playing the guitar.

Dr. Joyce is so thankful to be part of this amazing Golden Heart Veterinary team and is looking forward to providing excellent service and compassionate care to the pets of Windermere. She grew up in Southwest Florida, but  has family ties to Minnesota and so completed her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota (Go Gophers!). Dr. Joyce then returned home after graduation to work at the Rookery Bay Reserve in Naples, FL as an education specialist teaching the public about the diverse estuary ecosystem. She loves all critters, especially low tide critters! She graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Dr. Joyce then started her clinical work at a busy general practice in Southwest Florida, before eventually making her way to Orlando. She looks forward to connecting with her new clients here at Golden Heart. Outside of work, Dr. Joyce enjoys yoga, performances at the Dr. Phillips Center and trying new restaurants with her husband, Alex.

Before moving to Florida, Dr. Gina Kispert was originally from Severn, Maryland. Growing up, she always had a love for all types of animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to be a vet. After graduating with a degree in Biology from Eckerd College in St Petersburg, Florida, she then went on to graduate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine located on the island of St Kitts. Her clinical year was completed at the University of Florida. 

Dr. Kispert is excited to join the dynamic team at Golden Heart Veterinary Care. She is passionate about providing excellent care to all pets who come to Golden Heart. She has special interests in dermatology, cardiology and preventative care.

Outside of work, Dr. Kispert enjoys traveling, visiting Disney World, and spending time with her family and her pet turtle, Mr. Bubbles. 

Dr. Rogers joined the Golden Heart Veterinary Care team with a strong passion for providing pet owners with solid communication and education involving the general health and care of their pets.  Originally from Michigan, Dr. Rogers graduated with his undergraduate degree in Zoology from Michigan State University.  He then went to Veterinary School at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with his clinical year being completed at Purdue University.  Dr. Rogers has interests in preventative care, dermatology, and  ophthalmology.  His furry family members include a chihuahua mix, Olivia, and an Australian shephard, Lily.  When not attending to his patients, he loves to travel and cruise around the world with his family and friends.

Shakira joined the Golden Heart team a few months after opening, with 9 years of experience in the veterinary field.  She is originally from Ohio and studied Molecular Genetics at The Ohio State University.  Shakira moved to Florida in 2007 and her lifelong passion for the wellbeing of all animals led her to pursue a career in the veterinary field. In her free time Shakira enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters, swimming and snorkeling at the springs, listening to live music, and of course Disney.
