Dr. Alison St. John

Dr. Alison St. John, a Philadelphia PA native, earned her veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Although she is a self proclaimed 'crazy cat lady', Alison has devoted her life to caring for all of Mother Nature's creatures. From asking for a pet mouse for Christmas as a young child, to seeking out internships at the Tufts Veterinary Wildlife Center and Philadelphia Zoo, to practicing avian, reptile and small mammal “pocket” pet medicine, there isn't an animal she wouldn't love to help.

Her fascination with how things work spurred her interests in surgery, internal medicine and animal behavior. She moved to Florida with her husband in January 2026, and is continually excited to explore local nature preserves and learn about the different wildlife.

Dr. St. John is thrilled to have found Golden Heart Veterinary Care, a place she can continue to practice high quality medicine with a knowledgeable skilled compassionate team.

When not at work Dr St. John can be found hanging upside down doing areal circus arts, traveling north or west to snowboard, out on Disney adventures, or doing some relaxing gardening.
